hi out there,
ReplyDeleteI just want to say thank you for all this great music... this is really the very best, lets say, world-music blog I have ever found...
SWEEET!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this phenomenal compilation - clearly a monumental effort by all involved. I appreciate it so much.
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up, track #607 (Johnson Mkhalali - Joyce No. 2) is corrupted.
ReplyDeleteyes you are right
ReplyDeletehere's a good copy of Johnson Mkhalali - Joyce No. 2

Thanks
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I want to say thank you for posting un-corrupted mp3s of the unfortunetly corrupt songs from the Africa 100 boxset =) Seriously: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I downloaded the Africa 100 boxset from a torrent site, and really loved what I listened to so far (just got it today). When I was trying to convert the mp3s into the iTunes format of m4a/AAC (this is to save room on my very cheap laptop), I found out that some of the songs were corrupt (and sure enough when I tried to play those songs, it would skip, or go to the next song in Winamp even).
I found your blog by searching to see if anyone else had these mp3s. I am very happy to have the two un-corrupted versions of "Joyce No. 2" and "Petit Sekou" that you posted. Thank you! (again, seriously)
But I still have one song that is corrupt from the torrent I downloaded (Tony Allen & His Afro Messengers's "No Discrimination")... I downloaded your zip file containing that song to see if yours was possibly different, but I still have the song skipping near the end and crashing my Winamp (and not working in iTunes, either, if I try to convert it)...
Do you possibly have an un-corrupt version of Tony Allen & His Afro Messengers's "No Discrimination"? If you do, I would be extremely grateful for it, if it wasn't too much of a bother. But if it is too much of a bother, I humbly understand. Thank you for your time, and for posting those two un-corrupted mp3s. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Justin
In fact, No Discrimination i available on

Thank you so much for making this collection available. I know from experience how tedious of a task it can be to upload such a large compilation, and I sincerely appreciate your efforts. I've only just started listening to the first archive, yet I can tell already that this collection is going to be an amazing listening experience. You have a great blog here. In fact, I plan to write an article on it, and feature it on my blogroll sometime in the near future. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this project. Take care.

Thanks for your words, Zer0_II. I get so much music and info from the web, it only feels right to give something back; and it seems that the compiler's original intention also was to promote good music, so everybody wins :)
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing compilation. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication - Ottawa, Canada
